A couple of weeks ago, we organised a French Glacé Cherries baking day for bloggers to give them the opportunity to discover new ways of using our lovely cherries.FGC blog LR_23

Cindy demonstrate the jelly cakes

For one day we tasted and baked delicious Valentine’s treats developed and demonstrated by French baker and blogger Cindy Robert from Petit Gâteau and Food for thoughts.

Cindy had created two exclusive treats (soon to be found on our recipe page) : French Glacé Cherry (FGC) Jelly cakes  (a cherry twist on the traditional Jaffa cake) and FGC and Pistachios financiers (also known over here as friands). We had also prepared savoury and sweet recipes to show how versatile FGC are. We tried our favourite FGC chutney with blue cheese and FGC oatcakes, indulged in FGC & chocolate brownies, mini smoothies and mini cheesecakes.
